What I do

fail to planWhether you are just starting your group, thinking about expanding or have been running for a long time and feel the need for a review of where your organisation is going you will need to start with strategy – the understanding of where you are now, where you want to get to and how you are going to get from here to there.

A clear and well defined strategy is essential in enabling you to identify and achieve your goals. Once you have identified your strategy you will need to decide (plan) how to use your resources and what actions you will take to achieve your strategy.

Strategies without plans are just dreams ….

Plans without strategy limit our horizons and lock us into the same old patterns of behavior …

Strategy is about ‘thinking outside of the box’, imagination and risk …

Plans are about ‘grounding’ our imagination and mitigating risk …

All of us develop strategies and plans – whether in our daily life or at work – it’s just that we don’t always realise that’s what we are doing when we are planning next year’s holiday, our next career move or even, what the family are going to be eating next week!
